PINSPIRATION

//Joy it is finally Friday!! And the weekend is just about here, so I wanted to share with you what I have been seeing while burning time surfing the web throughout this week.

All of these images are those I have found on pinterest and have inspired me in one way or another, and here is how:

Spring has arrived, though it doesn't feel like it much here in Utah and really all I want to do is go to California and play on the beach! Lately my house has been feeling a little dark and seeing these homes with such light and color makes me want to decorate in a way that encourages this feeling and I want to bring nature into my house with plants! Besides me wanting to revamp my home, I also have been slowly revamping my closet. I'm a boho girl at heart and will always be. I love a good sundress or blouse that flows, but lately I've really been into the sleek, classic look you see on the boards of pinterest, blogs and fashion magazines. I want to incorporate that look into my own wardrobe by mixing a floral dress with a lovely tailored blazer or coat, along with layering! I've always enjoyed the looks of layers, but still haven't quite mastered it yet, as well as a good messy topnot. Those are two things I want to practice until I get right, layering and messy topnots!

These are the pinspirations that have been on my mind this week. Pinterest has a way of doing that to me.

Happy Friday!

FALLEN OFF THE BLOGGING WAGON.

//Almost four months is how long it's been since I last posted a thing on my blog. I fell off the blogging wagon, as well as letting other things in my life fall to the side. I don't know why I do it, why I get into a groove of improving myself and feeling great, then the next I let it drop. Why is it so easy to just give up on things you're working hard to make a habit?

I have this image in my head of how I want to create myself, of what kind of person I want to be. Life is about creating yourself, becoming this image inside your head and I know what I want and I know what I need to do to get what I want, but then why is it so hard to begin this creation?

Everyone has their own demons. Whether it's sleeping too much, drinking too much, eating too many sweets, whatever it is demons are there and they come and  go in different forms. For me at this moment in my life my demon is me lacking self-motivation. Some how I need to find it, obtain it and keep it.

I found this quote a few weeks back and it's something I need to repeat, to see every day, and hopefully this will spark something inside me.

I want to chase my dreams down.

Hoping soon I will find my self-motivation and accomplish all that I have been wanting and will jump on the blogging wagon again.

Until then...I'm trying to create and will be working on it.

3 CHALLENGE NOVEMBER.

Hey!// Hope you all had a spooky Halloween last night! And now that October has come and gone (too fast might I add), it's a new month with new promises. This month I've decided to dedicate November to challenging myself.

Everyone has bad habits...don't you lie to yourself, you know you do...especially me. One of which is not being a morning person AT ALL. Some of you might be thinking, not being a morning person isn't a bad habit, oh but it is...you see, I can never get up in the morning like a normal person, no, I ROLL out of bed in the morning, rushing out the door. Not only am I late half the time, but because I don't give myself enough leisure time to get ready, I look like a hot mess doing it. Well that stops starting today! My first challenge this month is to become a morning person. Get up with enough time to do all the things I dream about doing in the a.m., like have a cup of coffee with the boyfriend before he heads out to work, go to the gym, eat breakfast, you know the normal, responsible morning routine I should have at my almost 25 year-old self. Which leads to my second challenge this month.

I found my next challenge off of laurenconrad.com, called the Slim Down Challenge. Now it's nothing crazy, just a few moves to add to my non-existent (until this month) exercise routine. What it is is three moves, three weeks. 100 crunches per day, take the stairs whenever you can and 25 push-ups per day. In my goal to become a morning person, I feel it is important and beneficial to have a workout routine to make a habit, creating a purpose (besides going to work) to get up in the morning and to have more energy. This goes hand in hand with my third and final challenge.

I'm obsessed with Pinterest, constantly pinning away and if you follow me you know this. I'm always pinning workout/exercise moves that I tell myself I will look back at later and totally do...well I haven't yet. So this month I am going to do one of my workout pins! I found this 30 Day Ab Challenge, that some how I convinced Z he needed to do with me. Which is great, because now I have someone who will remind me and get me to do it and I will do the same for him. It's a challenge that works on building your strength. It starts off "easy" and then builds upon the first day making it harder each day. Here's a little taste of it, the first day we have to do 15 sit-ups, 5 crunches, 5 leg raises (which are the worst) and a 10 second plank. On day 30, the last day, we have to do 125 sit-ups, 200 crunches, 65 leg raises (eek!) and a 120 second plank (double eek!). This should be an interesting challenge, hopefully I'll get rock hard abs out of it!

So that is the break down of my three month challenge! Already on day one, I have started off on a good note! I woke up this morning at about 6:30 a.m. and went to the gym. Now I did forget to do my two workout challenges while I was there, but the day isn't over yet and I will complete those tonight!

Challenging yourself is a good thing, it keeps you on your toes and helps on bettering yourself throughout your lifetime, which is something you should never stop doing. Now I challenge YOU to figure out something you want to work on and make it a challenge for you to do this month!

Good luck!!

well said..quote of the week.

Hello there// I love this excerpt from Alice in Wonderland, I just absolutely do! I'm not sure if it's because it's cleaver or because I connect with it. At least once a day someone calls me weird or odd, so now that I'm really thinking about it, I think I'm in love with this quote because I connect with it.

No one really is "normal," we are all a little bit crazy on the inside, and if you claim your not weird or crazy in some way or another, well then I say you're just not fun! In the past, when someone would call me weird, I'll be honest, it use to bug me a little bit, but now that I'm older and slowly becoming more comfortable in my own skin, I find being called "weird" a compliment. The fact that I feel comfortable to be my weird, goofy self around people in general is great! But don't worry, around the masses I do try to hone in my goofy, odd self a little bit. I don't want to scare everybody away. Be yourself, even if you walk to the beat of your own drum!

To be "normal" is boring. In the words of Alice all the best people are bonkers!

and I'm back!

WELCOME// to my new blog design daisy Gypsy! I know it's taken a lot of time to finally have it finished, but doing it on my own with no internet at my house (for the time being) made it difficult to just bust it out and get it done. I found time here and there to work on it and now I'm happy to say it is finished and I couldn't be more thrilled! I love it. This design feels more like me then the last and now it no longer bugs me to look at it, like the old design did. I'm excited to go on my blog, I'm very proud it.

Now that I've introduced my new blog, so much has happened during the construction, I don't know where to begin! I need to sort through my events and decide on which to share. Stay tune, I promise I will play catch up fast!

m.i.a

oh hello there// As I'm sure you've noticed I've been absent for quite some time now, but the blog has been under construction and still is. It's a pretty big construction too...I'm changing the name and fixing the details to better match, well ME. Once the big change has been made and looks right, I will get back to blogging away! The first post to come is wrapping up my summer and recapping the highlights. One last hooray to summer since Fall is here! Until then...TA TA for now.

we went to a concert...rebelution.

This past weekend, the boyfriend and I, along with a group of our friends headed out to The Complex and saw a concert. Rebulution was the main act of this three band concert and it was so much fun! Minus the fact The Complex isn't
the best venue for a concert period. Quite sketchy if you ask me. But overall it was a good time with great friends and music!

girl on the go.

//a little sneak peak of my time in montana.//
hello there//Yet again, I'm slowly failing to post on my blog. Let me tell you, it's a lot harder then it sounds, especially when you've been a girl on the go like I have recently. For example, the end of June, two weeks ago I went with the boyfriend to Montana for the weekend and boy was that an experience...a fun one! Then this past long fourth of July weekend, I went up to Flaming Gorge with the boyfriend and his family, and now this weekend I'm headed to Vegas for a bachelorette party! Going out of town three weekends in a row, all the while still managing to get a forty hour work week in is intense, plus makes for a busy girl...I should know. Though it's great to go away somewhere else then home, I'm getting worn out from the constant go and my body is suffering from the major lack of exercise and increase in eating and drinking. I was doing so good with my workout routine too! After Vegas, I'm ready to get back to a non-packing week full of work and exercise with an easy weekend coming my way.

Once I get back into my routine I will have many posts coming your way! Montana, Fourth of July weekend, and Vegas...yep a lot of posting is to be done! I'm hoping one day I will get the hang of posting fast like those pro bloggers who have it down, but until then I still have to unpack from the Gorge, do laundry and then pack again for Vegas. So much to do, so little time.

oh happy day!

hello!//This is a day I thought would never come soon enough, but it came and I can not be more thrilled! After about five months of interning and hoping to find my pair of big girl pants...I found a pair! That's right my internship turned into my very first big girl job!! Luck has been on my side, there is no doubt about that.

No more wondering and waiting, no more trying to figure out Plan B or Plan C, no more job hunting and being discouraged, NOPE no more. I am officially a Marketing Coordinator and now on to planning my next big girl moves. Apartment hunting, furniture shopping, saving and paying off....all that good grown up stuff that I've heard about. This great news happened this past Thursday and it's as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and it feels amazing!

I guess I'm on the right track. College, degree, internship and now a full-on, grown up job. Life is GOOD. It's all I can say and I'm so grateful to them for giving me a shot and hiring me.

If I've learned anything from this experience and I have, it really is important to network, get to know the right people, put your resume out there, never give up and just keep pushing through it with positive thoughts. If I didn't talk about what I'm doing in school, what I want to do when I get done to different people this would have never had happened to me. TALK. It's all about communication. Never give up an opportunity to just meet up with someone in your interested field and talk to them and get to learn more...you never know what it will lead to. I should know.

Now onto working my little butt off and making this office here feel more permanent and more like me. It's a great time to decorate an office, MY office, if I do say so myself.

my summer essentials.

//After about a week of non-stop wind and rain, it's been nothing but clear skies and sun. So I think it's safe to say...summer is officially here! And with that, I thought I would share some of my summer essentials with you...

1. Though it is something that a lot of girls dread in the summer, me including, it is the number one essential of every summer...a swimsuit. This summer one-pieces are making a comeback and I am OBSESSING over this cut-out, two-tone swimsuit! It gives the classic one-piece an edge and stylish.
2. Beach curls (yes I said curls instead of waves) and braids are my go to hair style this summer. There's just something about going au natural and throwing a few braids in the mix, whether just for fun or to hold back your bangs, giving a boho, laid-back vibe, making it the perfect and easy do for the summer.
3. I don't care what you say, but overalls are also making a come-back and this style resurrection is one that I fully plan on taking apart of. From what I can recall when I wore them as a wee one, they were very comfortable! And for the more mature and modern look, pair them with a lace bandeau or sheer top, to give it a little edge.
4. A hat is always a great accessory to have on hand. It not only can hide a bad hair day, but it also protects your face from the harmful rays of the sun. I love hats and this summer I'm digging the fedora, big-rimmed style. It's laid-back feel makes any girl look like a cool, boho cowgirl.
5. High-waist, denim shorts. It's a vintage look that every modern girl needs. Especially with a drappy top, this combo is something I don't have and NEED to have this summer.
6. This summer start thinking outside of the box and wear a pair of not-so-common sandals. Sure flip-flops are easy and cheap, but why not have some fun with your footwear this summer? A good pedicure is only as good as the sandals their shown in.
7. Along with your au natural hair, go nude with a hint of color for your makeup. Summer is all about the sun and I've always loved that sun-kissed look. This year I plan on making a little twist to the sun-kissed glow, by adding a little berry and peach lip colors.
8. A maxi dress is my go-to look every summer and this year is no exception. A dress is so easy in the heat, you just grab it, throw it on, go and you know you look good. This season don't go for the usually all cotton maxi, be adventurous and try one that has some kind of embellishment. I'm personally loving eyelet and patterns.
9. Since this year is my year of trying to find a pair of "big girl pants," I'm rocking heels again! Strappy heels are a MUST this summer. They can make the easiest of outfits, skinny jeans and a t-shirt go from ordinary to extraordinary.
10. Turquoise. I absolutely love turquoise and it is the summer stone. I love the boho look and this is the accessory to bring out the gypsy in you.
11. One of the activities on my summer to-do list is to go on a picnic with the boyfriend in the mountains. Romantic, uh? But I mainly want to do this so I can break out a fun patterned blanket. I'm falling more in love with prints as the days go by and one of my favorite summer essential is my Mexican blanket.
12. Besides, strappy heels, and fun sandals, moccasins are a summer shoe essential. Their boho, comfy and look good with almost everything. On my days off, I wear them all the time and plan on getting an ankle boot
pair shortly.

I love everything that has to do with summer, the sun, heat, activities and most importantly the style. This summer, it's all about prints, retro, boho and being au natural. I'm putting a braid in my hair as we speak!

live a little.

//These are a few pictures from our Memorial Day weekend in Flaming Gorge. It was one of those mini trips that you do so much and are so active, you feel like you need a vacation from your vacation. Going back to work on Tuesday was extremely hard and exhausting, all caused from the weekends activities, but aren't those kind of weekends the best? As nice as it is to relax and regroup for the upcoming week, once in awhile it feels good to look back at your weekend, recall all the adventures you took and realize it was a weekend you LIVED.

Never give up a chance for an adventurous memory, for a relaxed one. It's always good to live a little.
